VOICELESS VOICES NETWORK

We are pleased to introduce to you the Voiceless Voices Network. A registered organization by the Kenyan government under the Societies act, 1968(rule4) Ref: GPK 5062-10m-01/2004. Registration no. 26517 working to transform Slum and other marginalized Communities.

The call to create the Voiceless Voices Network followed a long-time struggle by the less fortunate in our communities to attain freedom to food, housing, clothing, education, health and hygiene, socio-economic empowerment and a right to social amenities besides provision of day to day life’s needs. A situation where parents have food just for ‘today’ if one is lucky. In most cases people only eat one meal a day, if available. Getting that food, finding money for it, if one lives in the city slums is another story. Unemployment is high and if you do work you are fortunate to make 30-50 US Dollars a month. Rent for ones dwelling might be USD 30 so what is left is money for a few days of food and the rest, well is survival.

The administration is overwhelmed by the demand to provide social support as it is in the Western Countries. Adults and Children live in poverty under marginalization with no strict observance of their rights in the society.

Much affected also are the widows mostly HIV/AIDS positive or lost husbands due to crime related activities, accidents or other terminal illnesses. A good percentage of the Orphans left behind are infected with disease and therefore need continuous health monitoring.

Besides all the above, the network was formed to look at the plight of the needy child in the Pastoral community, Shelter less Adult in the semi-arid areas and the unreached citizen in the urban Slums. Socio-economic empowerment remains our core focal area requiring intervention. We continue offer spiritual support to these needy souls as we provide their day-day needs, this we believe is the total fulfillment of our mandate
